TURA: Employees of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) who have not been paid salary for over 11 months, have announced a sit-in Demonstration on August 28 as a mark of protest against the authorities’ negligent attitude towards clear their pending salaries.

The employees in a meeting held under the banner of the Non Gazetted Employees’ Association (NGEA) on Tuesday also decided to press for a CBI probe on the same day (Aug 28) to find out the reason for the financial crisis in the GHADC.

A silent rally is also being contemplated by the employees if the authorities fail to give a positive response on the matter by August 28.
