Postal services
A section of the postal employees has decided not to support the nationwide strike on August 23. The National Association of Postal Employees and the Bharatiya Postal Employees Federation said in a statement that they will provide services in selected post offices in the city.

Veterinary polls
The Returning Officer, Election to the Meghalaya State Veterinary Council, A.H and Veterinary, Shillong has informed that under Rule 9 of the Meghalaya State Veterinary Council 1999, it is notified that the election for the four members to the Council will be held for which filing of nomination papers will end on August 31 latest by 5 pm. The interested registered veterinary practitioners can contact the Office or respective District A.H. & Veterinary Officers for detailed information.

Registrar Meghalaya Nursing Council has informed that there will be no official transaction from August 22 till September 4 due to preparation for Nursing examinations.

General meet
The Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teachers Association, Amlarem Sub-Divisional Unit, West Jaintia Hills will hold its general meeting at Govt. L. P. School Amlarem (Opposite Enowel Pohshna Hall) on August 26 at 11am. The Association will also elect its new office bearers in the Sub-Divisional Unit for the year 2017-2020.

Ganesh Chaturthi
Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on Rilbong Sanatan Hindu Dharma Sabha premises on August 25 from 10 am onwards. Ganesh Vandana and arti will be held at 6 pm followed by Prasad distribution at 7 30 pm.
