SHILLONG: Advocate K. Paul, who filed a PIL against random cutting of trees, on Wednesday moved an application seeking to implead KHADC and also certain persons as parties, who had filed applications for removal of trees at different places.
The government advocate will file a copy of all such applications on record.
After the PIL was filed in the wake of the accident caused by a tree at Raj Bhavan which claimed three lives, the High Court banned further felling of trees.
During the hearing of the case on Wednesday, Dashalene Kharbteng, Assistant Sessions Judge, Shillong, who was appointed as the receiver of the entire property of fallen trees, submitted a report along with photographs.
The government advocate has filed a counter affidavit. The petitioner sought time for filing a rejoinder to the counter affidavit.
He also filed an additional affidavit to bring on record the replies received by him on his RTI application.
The matter will come up for hearing for orders after two weeks.
However, the court said that the interim order on August 18 banning further cutting of trees would continue till further orders.
