Seminar focuses on rainwater harvesting

NONGPOH: A two-day rainwater harvesting workshop was organised by the office of the District Mission Coordinator SSA-SEMAM Ri Bhoi in convergence with the State Project Director SSA-SEMAM Shillong Meghalaya at Ri Bhoi. The workshop was for students and school managing committees, to teach them how to collect rainwater and store it.

 

Training on Cashewnut

Tura: A 3-day training on ‘Value Chain on Cashewnut for Farmers’ was organised by the College of Home Science, Central Agricultural University here from August 21 to 23. Altogether 120 farmers from West Garo Hills participated in the programme which emphasized on establishment of sustainable linkages of cashew farmers group with college of Home Science for easy processing of raw cashewnut and to make use of different value added product technology on Cashewnut.
