TURA: The All Garo Hills Grade IV Government Employees’ Association has threatened to take agitation course if the government fails to give a positive response on the matter of payment of revised pay as per the Fifth Pay Commission recommendation within September.

A meeting of the association was held recently at Dakopgre in Tura where it demanded that revised pay as per the recommendation of the Fifth Pay Commission must either be released or the government should clarify its status.

“The Finance Department must release the revised pay within September. If not, the government must make an official announcement when it is going to be released within the same duration of time,” the employees said adding, it would resort to agitation if the government failed to respond or act within the given deadline.
