Gohain hopes BJP will win all seats in JH

JOWAI/SHILLONG: Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain said on Tuesday he hoped to see all the next seven MLAs from Jaintia Hills will be “from a single party”.
Addressing a gathering at a ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’ programme at Tpep-pale dorbar hall in Jowai, the minister urged people to support Narendra Modi for this New India movement.
He added that evils like poverty, terrorism and corruption can be ended through united efforts for a ‘New India’.
The Union minister also paid homage to freedom fighter U Kiang Nangbah in Jowai.
State BJP vice president JA Lyngdoh said when India was fighting for freedom, there was a ‘Quit India Movement’ in the whole country after which India got its independence.
Similarly, “Sankalp Se Siddhi will be a success and after five years we will witness a new India by 2022”, he said.
Former MLA and national executive member of BJP Sing Mulieh also spoke on the occasion. The meeting was chaired by BJP District President Marki Mulieh.
Gohain and MoS for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Panchayat Raj, Parshottam Rupala, will visit ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region on Wednesday.
They will attend the programme on Sankalp Se Siddhi and ‘farmers Orientation cum Awareness’.
