Ministers lay foundation stone

Nongpoh: In a bid to provide better road connectivity to remote areas, three State ministers on Tuesday attended the laying of foundation stone for improvement of the road from Zero Point to Nongdiengngan Umdiker under RIDF-XXII at a sanctioned amount of more than Rs 3 crore. It may be mentioned that the road connecting from Zero Point to Nongdiengngan Umdiker is previously under the maintenance of the MeECL. PWD minister, MM Danggo who attended as the chief guest expresses his happiness to see the dreams of the villagers become a reality as road connectivity, he said, is the backbone of improving the socio economic status of the people especially those in remote areas. The ministers also said that the ministers, including Power Minister, Comingone Ymbon and PHE Minister who is also local MLA, Dr Celestine Lyngdoh, will work together in order to bring all round development to the people of the state. Earlier, Ymbon also inspected the Umiam Bridge where he had instructed the MeECL officials for immediate repair of the dilapidated footpath.

Sensitisation on GST held
NONGPOH: The office of Superintendent of Taxes, Nongpoh in collaboration with the office of Deputy Commissioner Ri Bhoi District on Tuesday sensitised the government officers and traders of Ri Bhoi on GST. A one-day workshop on GST was inaugurated by the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi, D.P Kharsati at the District Library Auditorium Hall, Nongpoh.
