11 bus passengers injured in mishap

SHILLONG: As many as 11 passengers, including a nine-month-old baby, of a night super bus were injured early on Thursday morning after the vehicle overturned at Sumer village in Ri Bhoi, 22 km from the city.
The accident took place when the bus (AS01 FC 2185) was on its way from Silchar to Guwahati. The bus was packed with passengers. According to the passengers, speeding might be the cause of the accident.
The bus on reaching a turning at Sumer hit a barricade and overturned.
The 108 ambulance from Umsning was dispatched to shift the injured. They have been identified as Mohammad Shahir (25), Somibul Sheikh (32), Sabu Ali (21), 19-year-old Rinia and her baby, Babu Sheikh (38), Mohammad Alif Khan (15), Rofiqul Islam (28), Harmat Ali (17), Robin Islam (22) and Mohammad Saphikul Islam (20).
The 11 were taken to Umsning CHC, Civil Hospital Shillong and Guwahati.
