SHILLONG: Congress legislator Prestone Tynsong, who was recently removed from the Mukul Sangma-led Cabinet, said on Thursday he would apply for party ticket to contest the Pynursla seat.
From August 31, the party started distribution of application forms till September 15.
Tynsong said he would apply for Congress party ticket and added that he was yet to discuss the fallout of his removal from the Cabinet with his supporters.
Earlier, there were media reports that Prestone would shift his allegiance to NPP which, however, was denied by him. In the past, MPCC president DD Lapang said from the application forms it would be known whether any Congress legislator is leaving the party or not.
“It will be evident that those MLAs who do not apply for party ticket will not be with the party,” Lapang had said.
