207 recruits inducted in army

SHILLONG: The passing out parade of the recruits of 58 Gorkha Training Centre was held on Friday at Happy Valley.
The passing out parade symbolises the culmination of rigorous recruit training and the transformation of a recruit into a young soldier of the Indian Army.
A total of 207 recruits took the oath of affirmation during the ceremony. The parade was reviewed by Major General Hemant Joneja, Colonel of the Regiment 8 Gorkha Rifles who complimented the training centre for their training and demonstration of military drill. He also congratulated the parents and guardians on the successful graduation of their sons and wards into military service. Shandesh Gurung was awarded the ‘Overall Best Recruit’ and was presented with the ‘Manekshaw Khukri’.
