Man electrocuted in GH
A man was electrocuted in Baghmara, South Garo Hills on Thursday.
The incident happened at 8 am at Wa’tregittim village under Baghmara police Station when Chon R Marak reportedly came in contact with high tension live electric wire.
Three held for charcoal burning
Three persons were arrested from Ri Bhoi district for burning charcoal and felling trees belonging to the village community.
John Majaw, Headman of Mawlai Mawsiatkhnam lodged a complaint that on September 1, three persons namely Tenpar Nongbsap (34), Staining L. Nonglait (40), Rishan Makri (32) all of Pynthor Sohma (RB) were found burning charcoal and felling trees belonging to the village community at Songam, Mawsiatkhnam. Police arrested all the accused persons.
NGT order violation, truck detained
On August 31 around 2 pm, while conducting coal mine raids at Ladrymbai and Umsatai areas , police detained one truck (ML-11-1625) driven by Chilson Nongtdu at a place called Muiong, Rymbai-Borkhat Road transporting coal in violation of NGT order.
On the same day, Police detected another truck (ML-11-1604) driven by Iainehlang Ksih at place called Muiong, Rymbai-Borkhat Road transporting coal in violation of NGT order.
Woman escapes strangulation
A woman lodged a complaint stating that on Thursday at 10.30 am, Sabir Ahmed assaulted and attempted to murder her by strangulation at Khliehriat but she had managed to flee.
Two more held over drugs
After acquiring information from recently arrested Sunny Jyrwa (23), police conducted two house searches on Thursday at Pynthorbah, Block-2 in the city. Police recovered 10.99 grams of suspected heroin at the residence of Kerrylan Nongneng (24) and 0.12 grams of suspected heroin from Synsharlborlang Kharbihkhiew (20). Police arrested both the accused.
Woman, husband assaulted
Meena Kaur lodged a complaint stating that on August 28 around 4 pm, five persons namely Kanta Kaur, Pinky Kaur, Sonia Kaur, Gaurav Singh and Bau assaulted her and her husband, outraged her modesty and threatened her with dire consequences.
Bike stolen in SWGH
On August 31 at 2.30 pm, miscreant stole one motorcycle (ML-14-0060) belonging to Ramchandra Hajong from Kuligaon under Ampati PS, South West Garo Hills.
Miscreants steal LPG, tab
On August 31, miscreants broke into the residence of Lalrinliani Saha at Upper Nongrim Hills, and stole one Samsung Tab and one LPG cylinder.
