SHILLONG: Transport Minister HDR Lyngdoh has asked the PWD to take care of the bad roads in the State and in the capital city.
Speaking to media persons, Lyngdoh said that the State Road Safety Council will meet soon and he would definitely take up the matter about the dilapidated roads in the State.
While urging the PWD to take measures to maintain the road, he however, admitted that the maintenance of the road in a hilly area like Meghalaya is difficult and moreover, monsoon too prolongs here.
Earlier in a road safety programme, the minister while pointing to the potholes and poor conditions of the roads in the State had asked PWD to ensure good roads, as cases of accidents were being reported from across the State caused due to the poor road conditions.
