It was 52 years back   when body building legend Arnold Schwarzenegger launched the Mecca of body building in Venice Beach California.

The India chapter of Gold’s Gym started in 2002, when the first Gold’s Gym India branch was set up in Mumbai. In the next few years its number grew, and today Gold’s Gym has already set up 122 gyms in India with Shillong being the 123rd addition to the league.

Gold’s Gym India is acknowledged for its unrivalled success in providing the finest equipment and fitness knowledge available to help its members achieve their individual potential. It follows a globally proven fitness training module with state-of-the-art infrastructure and delivery methodology and continuous up-gradation through training programs. With certified trainers and nutritional counselling, Gold’s Gym provides a comprehensive approach to the health and well-being of its members.

The city of Shillong has always been a fitness conscious place. The dust-free environs, clean unadulterated air not only add to the lush greenery but make it an ideal place to pursue a fitness regime. With the launch of Gold’s Gym bringing in state-of-the-art equipment and trained staff, fitness enthusiasts can now look forward to realise their dream of pursuing their passion for health and fitness to their ultimate potential.

Speaking on the occasion, Ampareen Lyngdoh said that people of Shillong were very health conscious and the gym would further inspire them to stay fit.

She said that the opening of the gym of this magnitude would further send a message that people should stay fit.

The Directors at Acelife Fitness were working rigorously over the year to discuss the opportunity of bringing in international standards of fitness to our very own city and their thoughts and hard work into putting this together took physical form as the Gym was officially launched today.

On the momentous occasion, K Mordani, director AceLife Fitness, remarked, “It has always been our effort to work towards bringing the city of Shillong at par with the other metropolitan cities. We have been successful in bringing new brands in the retail space over the years and now, as we look into newer dimensions and horizons, Gold’s Gym is a step forward in this endeavour. We are glad to bring a Globally renowned brand for the people of this city”

The gym boasts of a fully equipped cardio centre, strength training, free weights area, personal training with qualified trainers, nutritionists, group exercises like Yoga, Zumba, Pilates & Spinning, physiotherapy sessions, a fresh juice and health snack bar and all of it under a single roof.

SHILLONG GOLD’S GYM started with its introductory offers and pre-sales last month and the Gym is proud to announce an army of 300 plus members. It is noteworthy to mention that all of the gym equipment has been sourced from the global brand Matrix based out of USA.

The launch started off with the ceremonial ribbon cutting which marks the Grand Opening, moving onto a delivery address by the Chief Guest followed by an entertaining Zumba dance performance and closing with the trademark handing over of the Gold’s Gym trophy and certificate to the franchise owners and directors of Gold’s Gym Shillong.
