SHILLONG: The president of the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC), Richard Marak, has said the Congress is the solution to all problems.
Addressing a gathering at a meeting of the South West Khasi Hills District Youth Congress at Mawkyrwat on Saturday, Marak said it is the Congress that provides food to the hungry, shelter to the homeless and water to the thirsty.
“The Congress united India and we got our freedom. The Congress gave us Meghalaya and South West Khasi Hills district is also given by the Congress,” he added. Taking a dig at BJP, Marak said the saffron party “is trying to attack our freedom”. “How can we ignore what happens to Muslims, Dalits, the worries of film producers and distributors, the freedom of women. If we ignore others’ loss of freedom without realising that the messengers are knocking at our doors with shackles,” he added.
Criticising various central policies under the BJP government, Marak said Narendra Modi failed to fulfil his promise to tackle price rise and demonetisation was a disaster. “Modi should apologise.”
