SHILLONG: The former members of the Pynursla Block Congress Committee (PBCC) executive committee will meet in the city on Tuesday to discuss their future course of action in the wake of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee’s (MPCC) move to dissolve the block Congress in the constituency.
A former member of PBCC expressed surprise over the “sudden” move, saying there was no valid ground for dissolving the committee.
Asserting that the committee has not indulged in any anti-party activities, the members said the decision regarding their association with any other party in the future would be taken in tomorrow’s meeting.
“We would also have to discuss with sitting local MLA, Prestone Tynsong, before taking such a major decision,” a member said, requesting anonymity.
Tynsong had earlier said he was not consulted before the party dissolved the PBCC and that he was only told about the development by the Block Congress president.
Earlier, Congress legislator Tynsong said he was not consulted before the party dissolved the Pynursla Block Congress Committee on Saturday and asserted that he would contest the Assembly polls despite the adversities.
