TURA: Contractual teachers from Garo Hills under the banner of the All Garo Hills Government LP School Contractual Teachers’ Association (AGHGLPSCTA) recently met Tura MP Conrad K Sangma.
The association submitted a memorandum urging the MP to look into the issue of non-payment of salaries for holiday months — 15 days in December, 31 days in January and 15 days in February — and service regularisation. It also appraised Sangma on the issue of contractual teachers being denied NIOS D.El.Ed training by the government which makes them vulnerable to be removed.
The Tura MP assured the teachers that he would look into all the issues discussed.
