Band from Mumbai to perform during Onam in city

SHILLONG: TRILOKA, a musical band from Mumbai will perform during the Onam and silver jubilee celebrations of Kalakairaly on Sunday at U Soso Tham Auditorium. The programmes will start at 10 am and end at 5 pm.
Kalakairaly is the Socio-Cultural Organisation of Malayalees in Shillong.
D.D. Lapang, former chief minister will be the chief guest and Gokulam Gopalan, President All India Malayalee Association will be the guest of honour.
The Kalakairali Kesari Award will be presented to N K Kumar.
Key note address will be delivered by P.N. Sreekumar, Secretary AIMA.
A number of cultural items will be presented by various children of the community groups. A special Bharatanatyam performance by Deepa Prakash, has also been scheduled.
President Pradeep Pillai, Welfare Chairman Jose Lukose, Aquarius Mathew and Alexander Mathew will address the meeting. Other guests who will address the function are V.C Praveen, National Co-ordinator AIMA, National Vice president K Nandakumar and Convenor AIMA Trust Advocate Prema Menon.
A Silver Jubilee Souvenir will be released to mark the occasion.
The programme will be followed by the traditional Onam feast.
