SHILLONG: The construction of the 33KV S/C line from Rongkhon to Dadenggre is making slow progress leading to a delay in improved power supply in the area.
The monthly progress report of the North Eastern Council (NEC) for July says only 5 percent work on the Improvement of Power Supply project, which was sanctioned in March 2016, is complete. Besides the S/C line, the project also includes strengthening of the 11KV and LT network under West Garo Hills (D) division.
The deadline for the Rs 570-lakh project is March 2018. The share of NEC is Rs 513 lakh and the state government has to contribute Rs 57 lakh.
