Govt notifies rules for Anand Marriage Act

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Government has notified the rules for the State Anand Marriage Registration Act, 2016.
This was revealed after Under Secretary, Registration, B Syiemlieh wrote a letter to Manjinder Singh Sirsa, an MLA from Delhi Legislative Assembly.
With the rules getting notified, Meghalaya has become the fourth state of the country to implement the Anand Marriage Act.
Meanwhile, the Shillong city Gurudwara Committee, Bara Bazar, Shillong representing the Sikh community of Meghalaya has expressed its gratitude to Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who is also the general secretary of Delhi  Sikh Gur-dwara Management Committee, for implementing the Anand Marriage Registration Rules.
Earlier, Singh had taken up the issue of implementation of the Act with the Meghalaya Government.
