Unclaimed body
The Joint Director of Health Services, Shillong Civil Hospital, has informed that a male patient, about 50 years of age was admitted on August 30. The name, caste and religion of the person are not known. The patient expired at 10:05 pm on Monday. Relatives are requested to collect the body from the morgue of the hospital failing which the body will be send for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
Donation
The V-Guard Industries Ltd will donate an ambulance to Unit Police Hospital Shillong under its CSR activity on September 12. The programme will be held at Unit Police Hospital, Police Reserve, Shillong, at 11.30 am. Health Minister Roshan Warjri will be the chief guest.

Holiday declared
The Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi District has informed that all state government offices, revenue, magisterial courts and edu-cational institutions in the district will remain closed on September 18 on account of ‘Unitarian Anniversary Day’.
Training
CML, an initiative of TATA Trust and Asian Paint Colour Academy in collaboration with Rilum Foundation will organise a 12-day ‘Basic painting course’ in Smit Village. Debate
Women’s College, Shillong, organised the 13th F. I. Hussain Memorial Inter-College Debate Competition, on September 9. The winners were Banteilang Dieng Malngiang and Balajied Kyrpang Nongbsap from Shillong Commerce College, Shillong. The second prize went to the Women’s College team represented by Grace B. Ch Sangma and Shelmoingam Khaling. Dr. B. Panda, Head, Department of Economics, NEHU, Shillong was the speaker. The topic for the debate was- In the opinion of the house ‘Poverty in India is a Myth’.
