SHILLONG: State Health Minister, Roshan Warjri stated that challenges faced by the Police Hospital with regard to the shortage of man power would be discussed by the Health department.

She was speaking at an ambulance contribution programme. The ambulance has been donated by V-Guard Industries Ltd. through its CSR project on Tuesday at a function held at the Hospital’s premises in Police Reserve here.

The Minister was referring to the statement made by S Khonglah, Medical superintendent of the Hospital who said that the Hospital was functioning with skeletal staff and was in dire need of at least a male and a female nurse at this moment.

“Surely, we will look into this matter which is of utmost importance as you do need man power,” Warjri said.

The Minister also lauded the yeoman service delivered by the men in uniform. She said, “We are living in a peaceful state and normalcy has been restored because of the hard work put in by you (policemen).”

She added that there was peace and tranquility in the entire state with God’s grace and because of commitment of the Police personnel with the cooperation of the public.

On the other hand, she requested the V-Guard Industries Ltd, which is a major electrical appliances manufacturer in India, to contribute ambulances for far flung areas in the state.
