Shillong: The Joint Action Committee South Lyngngam Border Area (JACSLBA), South West Khasi Hills district will support UDP candidate Pious Marwein in the upcoming election from Ranikor constituency, a release said.
GNLA cadre surrenders
SHILLONG: A newly recruited GNLA cadre surrendered before the police in East Garo Hills on Thursday.
According to police, the cadre, Silseng C Marak was compelled to leave the militant group after he faced the wrath of the outfit for failing to execute a person.
The cadre, who was deputed for sentry duty managed to escape and surrendered before the police.
HC verdict on Bernard PIL soon
SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya has reserved its order in a PIL filed by former ANVC-B leader Bernard N Marak against the State Government, the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) and others challenging the Land Transfer Act, 1955, and the pattas issued by the council in an A’king land and also the existence of non-Hill Mauza X in Garo Hills. The court heard the counsel for the parties and reserved its order.
