SHILLONG: Though Congress legislator AL Hek had shown inclination towards BJP, he collected application forms from the Congress on Friday.
A party source said that Hek, who is also the vice president of the party, took the application form probably to show that he is still with the party.
However, the source added that it is yet to be known whether he will contest from the party.
Hek, who had contested and won on a BJP ticket from Pynthorumkhrah constituency in the 2008 polls, joined the Congress in July 2009. Later in 2013, he contested from the Congress and won the seat.
Recently, while Congress president DD Lapang had warned legislators to desist from meeting BJP leader Amit Shah during his visit to the city on September 28, Hek had reiterated that he would attend the inauguration of the office of BJP, if invited.
There were media reports that Hek will finally join the BJP at an appropriate time.
