Lapangap people suffer because of absence of road

SHILLONG: Anguished at the absence of proper roads, health centre etc., at Lapangap area in West Jaintia Hills, two youths from the area Auguster Timung and Saikil Sumer described people from about 400 households living in the area were being made to suffer because of the negligent attitude of the state government.

 

Talking to the media in Shillong, these two aggrieved youth  informed in Wednesday that, “We went to meet Sniawbhalang Dhar when he was the PWD (Roads)
minister  to request him to build the road to our area. He assured that the road will be completed in October. Since them four Octobers (four years) have passed but nothing has been done in the ground.”
He said that the existing Kacchha road is motorable only in winters but not summers. The youth have demanded construction of a 9 km road from Khanduli to Lapangap.
