NF Railway athlete shines in Commonwealth powerlifting meet

GUWAHATI: In the recently concluded Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship held in South Africa, Aranyanee Gogoi, an employee of N F Railway, bagged 3 gold medals and bought laurels for the nation.

 

In the 63 Kg category of Power Lifting Championship, Gogoi lifted 405 Kg and won 3 gold medals for the country. She was later declared overall champion in her category.

 

On previous occasions too, she has have won numerous medals as well. In 2015, she bagged silver in the Inter-Railway Championship, bronze in Senior Powerlifting Competition; in 2016, she clinched Bronze in the Inter Railway Powerlifting Competition ; during the Asian Power Lifting Competition held in Udaipur, Gogoi further sealed the silver medal and again in the Inter Railway Powerlifting Competition held in the year 2017, she won a Bronze Medal.

On this great achievement, Chahatey Ram, General Manager, N.F. Railway, on behalf of N.F. Railway family, felicitated the athlete on Wednesday and wished her a bright future.
