Direct recruitment
The State Cabinet on Friday approved an amendment in the Meghalaya Forest Service Rules 1985 to ensure that 50 percent of the vacancies for the post of Assistant Conservator of Forest is filled through direct recruitment and 50 percent through promotion.

Nod for 11 non bonded doctors
The Cabinet also approved the appointment of 11 non bonded doctors including a specialist under 3 (f).
Chief Minister Mukul Sangma said that there are 100 vacancies and the normal recruitment through Meghalaya Public Service Commission will take its own time.
