Notice
The Chief Engineer, PWD (roads), Meghalaya, Shillong has informed that the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has notified that the construction and Demolition Waste Management Rules, 2016 under the Environment Protective Act, 1986, which prohibits disposing of construction and demolition waste in open spaces, drains and any other public space. The Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board’s directives, PWD prohibit all house owners, contractors and firms including Government Department to dump the waste materials etc. on stated sites. Action will attract as per rules, if anyone found guilty.
Air Fest
To commemorate the 85th anniversary of the IAF, Air Fest 2017, is planned under the aegis of Headquarters Eastern Air Command at ALG ground, Upper Shillong from 10 am to 40 pm from September 30 to October 2. The entry is free.
General meet
The Gorkha Secondary School Alumni Association has organised a general meeting of the past pupils of Gorkha Secondary School, 3rd Mile, Upper Shillong-5, to constitute a ‘permanent alumni association’ which will be held on the school premises at 10 am on October 7. The Association has urged all past students to attend the meeting.
Diamond jubilee
Nepali Puja Committee, Lower Jail Road will celebrate its diamond jubilee year and to commemorate the occasion, the Committee will host a get-together of harmony at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture, Bivar Road at 4 pm on Saturday.
