Two GNLA rebels surrender

TURA: In another the blow to the banned GNLA  outfit , two of its cadres surrendered at Williamnagar to East Garo Hills police on Sunday morning along with a pistol and a revolver.

The surrendered cadres are Chanchan Ch Momin (22) alias Gonggaram alias Teenfoot from Rapdikgre Village and Challang C Marak (21) alias Rongpak from Adugre.

According to East Garo Hills Police, the duo revealed that they surrendered fir being unable to bear the hardships posed by continued police operations. They also told police that cadres were facing financial crunch as whatever money collected earlier by the outfit was being managed by outfit chief, Sohan D Shira alone. The two also said that many of the cadres were looking for opportunities to flee the outfit as no one wanted to be with Sohan anymore.
