SHILLONG: The State Youth Wing of the United Democratic Party (SYW-UDP) has disowned the news item released by Joannes Lamare against the alliance with HSPDP asserting that it was done without the knowledge and sanction of the party committee.
In a press statement, UDP MDC Donkupar Sumer stated that that the views are purely personal and have no bearing whatsoever on the SYW-UDP.
“The SYW-UDP fully endorses and supports the party leadership and will soon meet to augment their capacities to work for the success of the Alliance,” Sumer stated.
Earlier, Lamare, joint secretary of the youth wing, has petitioned the party high command, claiming that the alliance between the UDP and HSPDP has caused a lot of distress among “many others”.
He added that there has been a mass exodus of members as they are dissatisfied with the way the party was being managed.
