SHILLONG: The Synjuk ki Dorbar Shnong, Shillong West, an umbrella body of ten Dorbar (village councils) has urged political parties vying for the 2018 Assembly elections from the constituency of Shillong West to refrain from making any aggressive campaign.

In a statement issued here, the Synjuk asserted that political parties should foster respect to view candidates in the political arena as participants and not as enemies.

The Synjuk reacted to the incidents of petrol bomb hurling in the constituency at the residence of MLA from the constituency, Paul Lyngdoh and the damage done to the CCTV camera at Congress office of the constituency.

Further, the Synjuk stated that the voters were wise enough to not elect political parties that intended to create fear psychosis or use of muscle power.

The Synjuk has issued a warning against anti-social elements and requested the residents to be alert to ensure peace and harmony in the constituency.
