SHILLONG: Parliamentary Party (PP) leader of Congress in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) Manstudy Nongrem said that the PP meeting will be convened before the KHADC session to discuss on Congress MDC Jansing Tynsong’s decision to extend support to the executive committee (EC) led by PN Syiem.
Tynsong has extended support to the EC of People’s Democratic Forum (PDF) coalition led by Syiem, who is a suspended Congress member.
In a letter addressed to Syiem, Tynsong representing Lyngkyrdem-Laitkroh constituency said that he is extending his support to Syiem without any condition for the sake of stability.
In this connection, Nongrem told reporters that resignation letter should be sent to the PP leader whereas Tynsong did not resign from the Congress party as such.
“He has to resign if he wishes to extend support to Syiem. I spoke to him over the phone and he informed that he is still a Congress MDC,” Nongrem said.
The leader further added that if Tynsong does not resign, then the matter will be taken to the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee.
