SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee received only single applications from five city constituencies.
The applicants include East Shillong (Ampareen Lyngdoh), West Shillong (Mohendro Rapsang), North Shillong (Roshan Warjri), Nongthymmai (Charles Pyngrope) and Mawlai (PT Sawkmie).
A party source said on Tuesday that no further clearance will be required in constituencies where there are single party aspirants.
The source added that that while there are two applicants, sitting legislator, AL Hek and Pynshngain Rumnong from Pynthorumkhrah, the applicants in South Shillong includes Ravi Kharmawphlang and Moon Lyngdoh.
As far as Pynthorumkhrah is concerned, Hek is yet to make up his mind regarding joining BJP.
The sitting legislators who had not taken the application forms include Rowell Lyngdoh, Prestone Tynsong, P N Syiem, Sniawbhalang Dhar and Ngaitlang Dhar.
