The Chief Executive Officer, MHIS has informed that the enrolment under the health insurance scheme Phase III has been extended till October 31 in all the districts. For further information, public may contact 0364-2507477. In Nongstoin, the static enrolment centres for MHIS is located at the DC’s office, Nongstoin and will be open on September 29 and 30.
Police station
The Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Home (Police) Department has inform that Mawshynrut Police Station, West Khasi Hills has been created. Henceforth, areas coming under its jurisdiction shall cease to be under the Nongstoin Police Station.

Cleanliness drive
The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC), which has been conducting “Swachata Abhiyan” in different states of the North East, organised a cleanliness drive at the Industrial Estate, Lumjingshai on Thursday in association with the District Commerce & Industries Centre East Khasi Hills. NSIC also conducted a cleanliness drive at MIDC Complex, Upland Road in Laitumkhrah in association with MIDC, KVIB and MHHDC.
Air Force Day celebrations
As part of Air Force Day celebrations, the Air Festival will be inaugurated by AOC-in-C Air Marshal Anil Khosla at the Shillong ALG at 9 am on October 1. The event will continue till October 2 and will include a host of activities like fly past by helicopters and fighter aircraft, performance by the Air Force Band, slithering demonstration by IAF Special Force commandos, Akash Ganga paradrop and others. There will be food stalls and game parlours for children during the show.
