SHILLONG: “Not having a single MLA in Meghalaya as on date is an advantage for us as we will start our innings in the state with a clean slate,” stated the BJP’s national spokesman and in charge on Meghalaya, Nalin Kohli.
“In Manipur too we had zero BJP MLAs but went on to form the government after the Assembly poll there. We have a competent leadership to guide us as well as the affection of the people,” he added.
“I think the people will see who they have to vote for because everybody wants development, everyone wants corruption-free administration,” he told reporters on Saturday.
Earlier on Friday, he said, “Elections are meant to be for winning elections not for tokenism and election is a serious exercise.”
Maintaining that the BJP government is not a “government of tokenism”, Kohli said, “It is a government that believes that we will work on good governance. This is a government that does what it says.”
