SHILLONG:Though its more than a month since the Reserve Bank of India released the new currency notes worth of Rs 200 and Rs 50 the new notes are yet to find a place in common man’s pocket in Shillong. Sources from the banks said that as of now nominal quantity of currency had been provided to banks in Shillong for distribution of the new currency and it is not enough for wider circulation. “As and when supply is more, more notes will be pumped into circulation, sources said. As of now, ATMs in the city have not been fed with new notes and enough notes will be put into ATMs once the supply increases. |
