SHILLONG: An RTI activist was allegedly assaulted by the general secretary of Dorbar Shnong Pomura in East Khasi Hills last week.
Aiborlang Kharmalki lodged a complaint that he had earlier filed an application under RTI against the construction of a village footpath and an AEC building awarded to general secretary Riallystar Nongspung.
At present, Nongspung lives at Pohkseh in Nongthymmai.
After filing the RTI, Kharmalki was threatened by Nongspung and on September 27 around 7 pm, the latter attacked the complainant with a sharp weapon and injured him.
