The final decision on the selection of the candidate will, however, be taken at the district and state level of the party. Khongwar has appealed all UDP supporters to support the party candidate in the last election.

The election for the party candidate was entrusted to Chyne to conduct the election process as party observer.

Besides Suting, another aspiring candidate K K Dkhar who had applied for the party ticket, informed the president that he was unable to attend the meeting.

It was after thorough discussion that the meeting unanimously decided to recommend another aspiring candidate, Suting, who was present at the meeting to be the party candidate from the constituency.
