LUCKNOW: An official statement issued by the Uttar Pradesh government said that Education Secretary WR Lyngdoh signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on behalf of the state government along with representatives from Uttar Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh in an attempt to boost cultural ties.
Under the ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’ programme the states will connect with each other to know more about the culture, heritage and traditions of each other.
“India is full of diversities. Despite diverse languages, dialects, costumes and culture, a single thread binds us together,” UP Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said.
The programme aims at actively enhancing interaction between people of diverse cultures living in different states and union territories, with the objective of promoting greater mutual understanding among them, the statement stated. (PTI)
