SHILLONG: The winter session of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) will begin on October 12 at 11 am in the council hall.
The Secretary to the District Council informed that the session will conclude on October 13.
KHNAM MDC, Adelbert Nongrum has already announced that he would move a no confidence motion during the two-day session against the PDF coalition led by suspended Congress member and CEM P N Syiem.
Through the no confidence, Nongrum wants to raise the issues concerning the anomalies in the allotment of labour license, illegal issuance of trading license and the amendment to the district council rule to ensure that only the indigenous Scheduled Tribes can take part in District Council elections.
The KHADC CEM, however, said that the PDF coalition is intact and there was no threat.
“The EC is intact, and we have the requisite number and it cannot be toppled”, he added. The CEM also said that if there are any grievances on the part of MDCs, this is internal matter which can be discussed and addressed.
“I don’t know the mind of MDCs, but the grievances, if any, are internal family matter of PDF”, he added.
