TURA: The National People’s Party on Wednesday reached out to the electorate of Selsella constituency to sensitise people on the misrule of the Congress in the state.
Addressing a public gathering at Nawaldare playground, Mronggre, NPP national president Conrad Sangma said, “Congress MLAs are shifting their loyalties to NPP, which is a clear sign of misrule on their party (Congress)”.
Sangma enlightened the gathering and urged everyone irrespective of religious and cultural backgrounds to come together and work to ensure the victory of NPP in the upcoming elections.
“NPP is committed to work for the tribals, minorities and marginalised sections of the society. It is the responsibility of our party to raise our concern at all platforms. We will not allow anybody including political parties to divide us in the name of caste, creed or religion. We will not tolerate if anybody wants to force ideology or practices upon us, we will fight back tooth and nail and oppose such ideas”, Sangma said infront of the thousands of supporters, who had come to pledge their support for NPP candidate Ferlin A Sangma, a retired MCS officer, who is contesting the upcoming election.
Sangma informed the gathering that the mood and wind across Garo Hills in particular and Meghalaya was against the Congress party.
“Public are willing to give their 100 per cent to uproot the Congress and its corrupted leaders for good”, he said, while adding that Congress under the leadership of Mukul Sangma does not stand a chance to win Selsella constituency.
He assured the crowd that Ferlin Sangma was a right candidate and a respected woman leader, who has worked in various capacities as a civil servant for the welfare and progress of the state.
