TURA: A 34 year old CRPF constable allegedly killed himself using his service pistol late Wednesday night here in Dakopgre locality.
The deceased, identified as T Chinza Kam hailed from Lianzagin village of Churachandpur district in Manipur.
According to police, the victim had been on night duty and on completion of his duty hours at around 10:30pm was returning to his quarters when he allegedly shot himself with the service weapon.
Critically injured, the constable was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries on the way.
An investigation is underway to ascertain the causes for the incident, however, police informed that prime facie it appears to be a case of suicide.
