Cultural event cum food fest
The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts & Guides organised the 2nd Cultural Programme and 1st Food Fest on Friday at U Soso Tham auditorium premises. It was inaugurated by Minister I & PR, Labour, etc, M. Ampareen Lyngdoh in the presence of Secretary, MBSG, A Swer and others.
Workshop
A one-day workshop and awareness programme focusing on consumer awareness and MSME sector on GST was organised by Shillong CGST Division-II in Williamnagar at DRDA Hall on October 13.
Science congress
The office of the District Planning Officer, East Garo Hills, organised a one-day district level National Children Science Congress with the theme, “Science, technology and innovation for sustainable development” at Simsanggre Secondary School, Williamnagar, on October 13.
Dry day
The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District has declared October 20 as ‘Dry Day’ throughout the entire district of East Khasi Hills on account of Diwali. All bonded warehouse/IMFL shops/bars/hotels/clubs and outstill shops will remain closed on that day.
Birth anniversary
The Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management, Shillong will hold a Shradhanjali on October 15 to mark the birth anniversary of former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
