SHILLONG: State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will organise booth sammelan (meetings) in certain parts of the state with an aim to strengthen the party’s organisation in the state.
Vice-president of state BJP party, J A Lyngdoh said that there were discussions in the extended core committee meeting to strategize the party organization upto the booth level. There will be three booth sammelan (meetings) – in Jaintia Hills, Garo Hills and Khasi Hills.
“Once we have done this, you will see that the strength of the BJP will grow so that we will go all out for the 2018 election,” he said.
“Booth sammelan is to strengthen the party at the grass-root level, then the district level and at the state level with an objective to prepare ourselves for 2018 Assembly elections,” he added.
