SHILLONG: The High Court of Meghalaya is likely to give its verdict on the education scam next week.
On Tuesday, the Court had sought clarifications from the Advocate General and reserved the judgment.
A legal source said on Wednesday that since the clarifications on all aspects of the matter were cleared on Tuesday, the verdict may be out within a week.
Earlier on May 22, the Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice VP Vaish began a fresh hearing in the matter following a direction from the Supreme Court where the case was pending.
The Court had concluded the marathon hearing on June 16 and reserved its judgment.
At least 40 petitions were filed before the court by the candidates who were aggrieved over the manner of appointment of school teachers.
The case relates to the appointment of assistant teachers in LP schools in 2009-10.
