UDP to welcome former candidate at Nongjri

MAWKYRWAT: In a boost to the United Democratic Party (UDP) in Ranikor constituency, Mighter Marwein, a prominent leader who has contested the district council election in 2014, is all set to join the party along with his supporters.
According to R Bahunlang Sanglein, secretary Youth Wing and Media Cell of UDP Ranikor circle, Marwein who had unsuccessfully contested the district elections as independent candidate in 2014 will join the party.
“On November 3, 2017 a meeting will be held at Nongjri village to welcome Marwein to the party,” Sanglein said, adding that many leaders will be attending the meeting.
Sanglein also informed that during the public meeting organised by the UDP Ranikor Circle at Mawpud village on October 19, hundreds of its supporters attended and vowed to work hard for the party.
“Many people from Mawpud village which had produced one MLA/MDC from the regional party, (L) Bakstar Wanniang, were eager to see changes in Ranikor and therefore pledged to support the candidate Pius Marwein in the next Assembly elections,” Sanglein said.
During the meeting, many leaders from the UDP Ranikor Circle including president, G.G. Bung Snaitang, working president and party candidate, Pius , Senior Working President, Nasar N Marwein and other prominent leaders were present.
