TURA: A day out on the riverside for a picnic ended in tragedy for a young university student from the Tura campus  of NEHU, who drowned at the famous Chibragre picnic spot, 15 kms from Tura, on Saturday afternoon.
A group of students from the Tura NEHU campus had gone on a picnic to Chibragre, near Rongram, and plunged into water for a swim. When they emerged from the water they found one of their friends, Benlo Kent of Nagaland, missing.
Frantic search in the water proved futile and the police were alerted. A team of divers from the Fire and Emergency rescue department later retrieved the body from the waters.
The 23-year-old victim hails from Kohima. He was a first year student of the Agri-Business Management department.
