NONGSTOIN: The village dorbar of Mawroh has issued a clarification against a woman who alleged that she was ostracised from the village and church for not having an Aadhaar card.
According to P.T. Sohshang who heads the dorbar, Phrim Sohshang had since 2016 refused to share any information to government authorities.
Thereafter, the dorbar had asked for a statement regarding her opinion on the prevailing functions of the government and dorbar.
“This lady rejected the proposal of the dorbar to produce a statement. Her entire family decided not to be part of government schemes/grants,” Sohshang said.
“The dorbar therefore had no other choice but to ostracise the family because they kept aloof from the society,” he said.
