SHILLONG: The Mawsynram Block Congress Committee (MBCC) has decided to send the name of Himalaya M Shangpliang to the District Congress Committee and to the State Congress as the candidate from Mawsynram constituency.
This was informed by the MBCC during the general council held at Mawsynram Rit Mawsir on Tuesday.
President of MBCC, Khelor Sing Kharnaior said that other than Shangpliang, another candidate, Sylvestar Marwein has also sought the party ticket.
Kharnaior said that Shangpliang has received the maximum votes from the primary with a total number of 136 votes. Mawsynram is currently represented by suspended congress member, PN Syiem.
