SHILLONG: HS Shylla, the new entrant in the National People’s Party (NPP), has hit out at MDCs from his former party, the People’s Democratic Front (PDF), arguing that they should look at themselves as they were also defectors from different parties.
The lashing out comes in the wake of criticisms of Shylla by PDF members for defecting to NPP.
In a statement issued here, the senior politician said the Congress and HSPDP have four members each who have defected to PDF, one from UDP, two from KHNAM and one is an Independent.
He went on to add that PDF encouraged defection and asserted that it should expel its own members who are defectors from other parties.
Shylla termed PDF as “Proper Defectors Front” or “Perfect Defectors Front,” and stated that the party’s MDCs have no right to speak about him defecting to NPP.
PDF has fielded Hilarius Pohchen from Nongkrem constituency.
