SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) has started the process of overhauling the entire syllabus from Class I to Class X.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, MBOSE chairman, Pravin Bakshi said the board had floated the expression of interest (EOI) earlier and leading publishers from across the country have submitted their manuscripts.
At present, the MBoSE teams are going through the manuscripts submitted by the publishers, and based on the best content, the board will select top three or five manuscripts for further action.
The board is also looking at the price aspect of the textbooks as it does not want them to be expensive for students.
According to Bakshi, the board is also taking the help of the directorate of Educational Research and Training for checking the manuscripts.
Asked when the new syllabus will be ready, Bakshi said the board was trying its best to implement it at the earliest.
In a notification issued on Friday, the board reiterated that all concerned textbook publishers/developers should submit six copies of each manuscript title for review.
